Cougars in 2B play-in game at Kittitas for District baseball

 


Lyle-Wishram-Klickitat’s baseball team finished the season with a 19-3 loss to Sherman County in Lyle on Friday. Chad Hester and Kurtis Billette provided the offense for the Cougars, both going 2-3 on the day with Hester smacking a home run out of the park. But 13 runs scored over the first two innings by Sherman County was too much to overcome.

The Cougars finish the regular season with a 7-12-1 record. Earlier in the week Sunnyside Christian left Lyle with wins of 15-3 and 13-9. Ryan Bangs was lights out on the mound for the Knights, allowing just two hits in game one. The Cougars stayed close in game two until a 7-run fifth inning broke the game open.
