HITTING THE ROAD: Rob Wing is retiring after 32 years teaching at Goldendale High School. He's not going anywhere, but Wing says he wants to do some traveling.

With all of the changes happening within modern school systems, it can be hard for the teachers who have been around since the time schools taught typing on typewriters to keep up with it all. This is one of the few reasons Goldendale High School vocational program teacher Rob Wing has decided to retire.

"I was raised in Benton City. I always knew that I would be going to college because my parents were both teachers," says Wing. With the luck of the draw, college would be the very thing that decided the next 32 years for Wing and his career. "I ended up going to Central Washington University in Ellensburg, and during my senior year, I met my wife and signed a contract to teach at Golden...
