Christensen alternate to District tennis

Hoffman-Johnson play into day 2 finish sixth

ALTERNATE: Jairus Christensen finished 2-2 at sub-district for fifth.

The sub-district tennis tournament got off to a rough start for Jairus Christensen when he lost his first set 6-0 to Eduardo Ceballos, of Cle Elum-Roslyn last week. It was just a couple of weeks ago that Christensen was moved out of the number one singles spot on the Timberwolf team to pair up with Spencer Ricks as the number one pair. But, when sub-district seeding was made, Christensen was third seeded and Ricks was teamed with his old partner, Ignacio Cano.

Ricks and Cano were eliminated after losing a close match to Aaron George and Adrian Young, of Naches Valley in a 6-4, 0-6, 7-5 match. Christensen rallied to defeat Ceballos 0-6, 6-2, 6-0. He lost his next match to Highland's Andy R...
