Bryan and Golding dominate 300 meter hurdles while relay teams shine at District

CLOSE RACE: Goldendale's Logan Boardman qualified in the 200 meters, one of the closest races at last Friday's District meet. Boardman was fourth in a time of 24.04 seconds. The winning time was 23.32 by Zillah's Riley Olney, right, and seventh place crossed in 24.7.

Goldendale will send 16 track and field athletes to the State championships this Friday and Saturday at Eastern Washington University, in Cheney. Leading the way will be the best hurdlers from District 5 with Brian Golding and Ocean Bryan, easy winners of the 300 meter hurdles. Golding won the event by 1.88 seconds and Bryan steamed away from the pack by a stunning 3.38 seconds. For Bryan, it was almost an identical time to her sub-district win the previous week where she set a PR of 47.85 seconds. It was Bryan's 10th consecutive win in the event. Golding has won 11 of 12 starts in the 300 meter hurdles this year.
