Ire over planning commission appointment still strong


By all reports, Jerry Koch, the new man appointed to the City of Goldendale Planning Commission, is abundantly qualified to occupy his position. His only “flaw” seems to be that he doesn’t live in Goldendale, and the issue of people on a city commission who don’t live in that city is increasingly irritating to many—including current members of that very commission.

“We had a clear understanding from [city administrator] Larry Bellamy that all future positions on the commission would come from within the city or within the urban growth boundary of the city,” says Donna Silen.
