Kenith Vogt

Kenith Hans Vogt was born in Oak Creek, South Dakota on December 4, 1930, the son of Hazel Lee (Bartlett) and John Hans Vogt. Kenith served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, receiving an honorable discharge on October 1, 1954.

On January 8, 1955 he married Lorraine Pagel at Grace Lutheran Church in Klickitat, Washington. He worked at J. Neils Lumber Company through the Champion days in Klickitat. He was a union member for St. Regis for 35 years. Mr. Vogt retired in 1986 due to health reasons.

Kenith was a member of the Gleaners for 25 years. For two decades he volunteered for Lyle Senior Center serving meals. He was also a member of Grace Lutheran Church and served as president of the church for 30 years. Kenith enjoyed splitting wood and carpentry; he and Lorraine built their own home in 1960. Mr. Vogt passed away in Hood River, Oregon on May 31, 2015 at the age of 84.

He is survived by his wife Lorraine of Klickitat; daughters and sons-in law Neda and Mickey Ragan of Vancouver, WA and Katherine "Sue" and Stacy Robinson of Klickitat; grandchildren Alisha and Jonathan Ragan; Paul and James Robinson; great-grandchildren Kenlee Ragan, Eann and Nolen Robinson; and brother James Vogt of Klickitat. He was preceded in death by sisters Helen Knopp and Elsie Moon.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, June 7 at Grace Lutheran Church in Klickitat.Please visit to send condolences to the Vogt family.
