50 Years Ago - June 24, 1965

Supt. Paul Johnson’s 33 year career as head of the Goldendale school system has been a colorful one. Many of the “early day” graduates under Johnson recall his keen interest in students and mention with pride, that on several occasions he “actually went into homes and pulled the kids out of bed on a school day.”

In 1920, he graduated from Lewis & Clark High School, Spokane, and enrolled as a student at the U. of Washington from where he graduated in 1925. His college education came the hard way.
