City shuts down fireworks for Fourth

Goldendale City Administrator Larry Bellamy announced over the weekend that fireworks that explode in the air are prohibited in the city over the coming Fourth of July holiday. Extreme fire danger in the area was cited as the reason for the prohibition.

Sparklers and similar products that remain on the ground are acceptable.

"We want everyone to have a controlled good time," Bellamy said.
