FBI still seeking fugitive

A Goldendale couple were looking to camp north of Carson last week when they were advised that it probably was a bad idea because the FBI was all over the area west of Goose Lake. They were on the trail of David F. Tilton, a 60-year-old Trout Lake resident.

According to the Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office, Tilton was scheduled to turn himself in to the FBI in Yakima on the afternoon of June 15 to answer a federal warrant for criminal charges. Tilton never arrived and the FBI notified area law enforcement. Tilton’s vehicle was found off Forest Road 60 where it intersects the Pacific Crest Trail in Skamania County. Authorities believe Tilton is fleeing prosecution. Anyone with knowledge of Tilton’s whereabouts should contact the police.

Contacted by The Sentinel, the FBI refused to disclose the charges against Tilton.
