The stars come out on Goldendale streets

WALK OF STARS: Diana and Julian Notestine, Goldendale Public Works Director Karl Enyeart, and Goldendale Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Earlene Sullivan stand before the first moon and stars painted on a city sidewalk as part of a beautification plan highlighting the Observatory.

Goldendale is easily a famous little town, with the Observatory, the Presby Museum, the Maryhill Museum of Art and the award-winning Maryhill Winery. Many people find Goldendale a lovely place to live, and organizations like the Greater Goldendale Area Chamber of Commerce have committees that are dedicated to the town's beautification.

"My name is Diana Notestine and my husband is Julian Notestine," states one such committee member. "We're part of a group called the New Town Pride, a committee of the Goldendale Chamber of Commerce." The group consists of the Notestines, Mike Canon, Dennis Carver, Lila Burgess, and Judy Wilson.

Although the faces have changed, the name should ring a bell....
