Aerial fireworks banned in the city, Rural 7


Goldendale City Administrator Larry Bellamy announced over the weekend that fireworks that explode in the air are prohibited in the city over the coming Fourth of July holiday. Extreme fire danger in the area was cited as the reason for the prohibition.

Rural 7 also has banned aerial fireworks, so while it is legal to sell them in the city it would be illegal to set them off within Goldendale or Rural 7 fire district. Bellamy says, “People can save the fireworks until New Year’s Eve.”

Sparklers and similar products that remain on the ground are acceptable. "We want everyone to have a controlled good time," Bellamy said.
