Fourth festivities: an outlook for local fun and travel

HERE IT COMES: Crews were out on Main Street Monday repainting parking lane lines in preparation for festivities, such as the annual Community Days parade.

It's a hot Fourth of July this year. Fire danger is high, and airborne fireworks are prohibited. On the other hand, it's Community Days with its traditional parade, fun, music, and cars. And gas is at a low enough price that many families are hitting the road. So get ready for good times this Fourth, and travel safe and keep cool.

And remember: in observance of the holiday, The Sentinel is closed this Friday.
