City council moves to change residency requirements for planning commission


The Goldendale City Council’s meeting of Monday night included on its agenda a public hearing on the city’s six-year street plan that drew no comments from the sparse crowd and the first reading on several ordinances.

An ordinance clarifying that city staff has the authority to make minor adjustments in the case of delinquent water payments sailed through with no comment, but two others on the agenda drew closer scrutiny from council members.

A major revision to the animal control ordinances spelling out conditions under which certain livestock and fowl—including chickens and horses—could be kept in city limits was sent back to the ordinance committee for further work. Councilor...
