Husband Father Marine. One of The Few, The Proud....

Carl Herman Coolidge was born to Charles and Mae Coolidge on October 12, 1934 in Klickitat, Washington. On June 13th Carl went home to God with the same quiet dignity and confidence in Christ with which he lived his life.

He was the best husband, father, Marine, friend, Christian you will ever find. He was a wise man, a man of few words, he valued truth and fairness and he would do whatever he could to help anyone.

He took Semper Fidelis to heart his whole life - Always Faithful - to God, his wife and children, his family, his fellow man and the Marines.

He served 10 years in the United States Marine Corps, worked in the mill in Klickitat as a saw filer, and with Sprint in Hood River. After caring for his family and enjoying retirement, Carl returned with his wife Josephine, to Klickitat, the place that was always home.

He is survived by his beloved wife Josephine, daughters Corinne (Charles) and Beda, sons Carl and David (Michelle); grandchildren Jedediah (Angie) and Isaac Schmoker; Lydia, Anna (Samuel Gullixson) and Adam Norman; Jasmin and Stephen Coolidge; great- grandchildren, Lily, Eastin and Liam Schmoker; Abel, Elisha and Matthias Gullixson; Gabriel and Christopher Norman; sisters Joanne (Van) and Lucile (Joe), numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Charles, sister Beatrice, son in law Gary, and great grandson Simeon.

We will miss him for the rest of our life but we will see him again.

Memorial Service will be held on July 11, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church, 11th & Pine, Hood River, Oregon.
