50 Years Ago - July 15, 1965

• C. Ed Doubravsky, Goldendale contractor, was apparent low bidder on the McKay location job Tuesday, July 13. Bids were opened at the Corps of Engineers office in Portland for the repair and restoration of the levee along the left bank of the Klickitat River at the McKay location. The levee was washed out in floods earlier this year approximately three miles southwest of Klickitat. Doubravsky’s bid was one of seven that ranges as high as $11,500.
