City hears on reader board, moving Community Days, product pitch

HEID'S VISION: Goldendale School District Superintendent Mark Heid speaks to the Goldendale city council in a special meeting Monday night. He proposed a renovation of the "Sportsman's Paradise" reader-board sign over Columbus Avenue.

Members of the Goldendale City Council held a special meeting before the regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday. The early time was to accommodate a presentation by Goldendale School Superintendent Mark Heid, whose school board also meets at 7 p.m. Heid offered the school district's help in reworking the downtown "Sportsman's Paradise" sign that crosses over Columbus at Main Street. The design would promote the Goldendale Timberwolves, including a pair of metal silhouettes of timberwolves facing outwards atop the sign.
