Search for airplane ejection seat beacon ends in motel


A peculiar search was set into motion last weekend when a U.S. Air Force ejection seat beacon went off, indicating a man down at Trout Lake.

According to Klickitat County Range Officer, Harold Cole, a call was received from the USAF about a beacon. They knew it wasn’t one of their active units, but requested local agencies check it out after it pinged off a satellite. Around the same time, a Civil Air Patrol plane with a tracker took off to locate the beacon.
