Police say, lock your vehicles

Vehicle prowls are on the increase in Goldendale, according to the Goldendale Police Department. There have been at least nine incidents in the past couple of weeks plus a number of break-ins to vacant houses. Police remind people to keep their vehicles locked with windows rolled up and don’t leave property in view. All of the recent prowls have resulted in property stolen from vehicles that were not locked.

Lt. Reggie Bartkowski says the houses that have been burglarized tend to be ones that are being remodeled and tools are being left inside. Burglars have kicked in doors and stolen tools, leaving large, high value items behind, leading police to believe the culprits are on foot.
