Five fires set Saturday a.m.

 


Serious damage was averted thanks to some early birds who noticed a few fires that were started early Saturday morning in Goldendale. Police received a report of a fire near the ball field, east of Ekone Park at 3:50 a.m. Officer Kevin Dyment responded and was able to extinguish the blaze before fire trucks arrived. Fire fighter Steve Randall asked Dyment about the other fire near the barn on the way into Ekone Park. Dyment had not seen a fire as he drove by. It turns out they were just the last of five fires that were set that morning.
