The future of golf

The Goldendale Golf Club hosted its junior golf program, Tuesday morning golf throughout the summer. To wrap up the program, a tournament was held with Lydia Adams winning the five-hole event and Cameron Mains taking home nine-hole honors.

Summer golf instructors were club pro, Keith Johnson, Matt Anderson and Goldendale High School golf coach Ted Wilkins. Twenty-eight youngsters from first through eighth grades participated.

This weekend is Member-Guest date at the golf course. The next big event is the Holcomb's Open, Aug. 29 and Aug. 30.

The Goldendale Golf Club is located north of town at 1901 North Columbus Ave. It is a private, nine-hole course incorporated as a non-profit in 1947....
