They came from Washington DNR, from Oregon DNR, from Incident Command. And they were all over Klickitat County.

Public Information Officers (PIOs) for the Cougar Creek Fire were walking the streets of Goldendale and other towns last week and yesterday, carrying maps and updates and asking if anyone had questions.

"So where's the best place to put an update in the courthouse?" asked Laura Pranuk, an Incident Command PIO, Tuesday as she looked for good places with a lot of traffic. "What's with all the annexes? Is there one main one?"

Allen Lebovitz from DNR was with her, making the information rounds.

"Are you familiar with what 'containment' means?" he asked. It seemed an obvious question...
