Library offers return-by-mail


Remember when you used to get your library books in the mail, but then you’d have to drive into town or over to White Salmon to return them? Not any more.

Kate Maple, the commissioner-appointed trustee for Klickitat County on the Fort Vancouver Regional Library District Board, reports that now patrons can get their materials in the mail along with a re-usable shipping with a pre-paid return label on it. That means if you live in a rural area and qualify for books by mail (more than 10 miles from a library), you have free library service directly to your mailbox. And most of Klickitat County is eligible for books by mail.
