Don F. McManman

Don F. McManman was born Dec. 4, 1949 in Prineville, Oregon to Orval and Leona McManman. He grew up in Madras, Oregon and graduated from Madras High School. Don attended Portland State University where he served as editor of The Vanguard student newspaper during his senior year.

His journalism career included work as a reporter for the Bellingham Herald and the Tri-Cities Herald and editor of The Tillamook Lighthouse-Herald. He was also a public information specialist for the Washington Public Power Plant in Richland. Don most recently was editor of Pacific Fishing Magazine, a publication for the commercial fishing industry.

Don lived in Goldendale since 2008. He was a member of the chamber of commerce, sharpened knives at Goldendale's Farmer's Market and wrote occasionally for The Goldendale Sentinel.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Orval; and his brother, Dan. He is survived by his mother, Leona of The Dalles; two sisters, Marie Torrillo of Portland and Judy McManman (Richard Heredia) of Vancouver, Washington; and step-daughter Senie Chernuhina.
