Avista seeks rate changes


Washington utility Avista has good news and bad news.

The good news is, your natural gas rates could go down.

The bad news is, your electric rates could go up.

The utility recently filed two annual rate adjustment requests in Washington that, if approved by the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (UTC or Commission), would cause the respective rates to change on Nov. 1 this year. The Purchased Gas Cost Adjustment (PGA) and Residential Exchange Program filings are annual adjustment filings and are separate from the current general rate case and the partial settlement agreement reached in May 2015 regarding base retail rates in Washington.
