KVGD-LP closer to going on the air



UP IN THE AIR: The tower for Goldendale's new low-power radio station is placed on the corner of Darland and Columbus.

A low-power FM radio station for Goldendale took another significant step forward Aug. 6 when a transmission tower went up on a utility pole at the corner of Darland and S. Columbus.

That's after Puget Sound Energy in Goldendale made a generous donation to help the fledgling station, with call letters KVGD, get past some major financial hurdles.

"A PSE Foundation grant for start-up equipment was awarded to Community Enrichment for Klickitat County, the official LPFM radio station license applicant," says Cory Eberhart, the primary public voice of the project.
