Rivers back to near normal


Early season concerns about whether there would be enough water in the Klickitat River for fish to make it past Lyle Falls, seem to be assuaged as the base flow of the river kept it above all time lows all season long and, as of Sept. 1, the flow was 697 cfs compared to a long-time average of 764 cfs on this date.

Even the White Salmon River is flowing much above recorded lows with 504 cfs compared to 645 cfs average for Sept. 1. The rains over the weekend were quickly realized at the rain guages near Underwood for the White Salmon and Pitt for the Klickitat River.
