Pig Bowl to benefit Gorge area families

 


The annual Pig Bowl will be played at Wahtonka football field in The Dalles on Saturday, Sept. 19, starting at 7 p.m. The game is a benefit event with all proceeds distributed to families who are dealing with medical issues.

This year’s families are Tana and Rick Slawson, of Goldendale and Heidi and Blake Hall whose daughter, Lily is being treated for cancer. The Bowl is a game between law enforcement officers of Oregon versus law enforcement officers of Washington. The score is inflated by supporters who can log into pigbowl.net and purchase points for their team. At the time this article was written, Oregon was leading 530 to 434. Seven points cost $50.
