50 Years Ago - September 9, 1965

• Joe Dressel, acting as secretary for the Goldendale Observatory Committee, this week sent a letter to Professor Lawrence Wilets, chairman of the Astronomy Dept. at the University of Washington, calling attention to this area as a possible site for the University’s planned observatory. The University reportedly plans installation which would cost in excess of $3 million. Its principal instruments would be an 84 inch telescope, to be used for teaching and research.

75 Years Ago - September 12, 1940

• Red-headed Clifford McDonald, 13 year old Maryhill school boy knows a thing or two about baking cakes and he has a blue ribbon won at the Klickit...
