County leads state in per capita pot sales


Klickitat County sold more marijuana per capita over the past year than any other county in Washington, according to a report just released by the Washington State Institute for Public Policy.

The 54-page report, entitled "I-502 Evaluation Plan and Preliminary Report on Implementation," is a comprehensive overview of the first phases of implementation of legalized marijuana in the state. It shows that sales in Klickitat County between July 2014 and June 2015 were $1,351,236, or $65.80 per capita. The county's lead over any other county was substantial, even over second-place Clark County.

Speculation is high in Oregon that the sales were less about people in Klickitat County getting stone...
