Skate Shop hosts Ramp JAM contest

Hopefully everyone in Goldendale and its surrounding areas has had a chance to get to know Jim and Brian Taylor of the Easy Outlaw Skate Shop. Father and son, the two are a couple of considerably cool guys who happen to own one of the coolest skate shops/parks in the Gorge. If you haven't had a chance to be formally introduced, then the perfect way to do this is by taking part in their Ramp JAM contest.

The Ramp JAM contest will be acting as a fundraiser for the Easy Outlaw Skate Shop. Having won the bid for the old skate park in Goldendale, these gentlemen have a lot of work ahead of them. Although, they will have to wait to start building until the foundation is finished, a cement foundation that will be built with money raised from the upcoming event.

"It's a fundraiser to get some cement for the new remake of the skate park at the Easy Outlaw Skate Shop," says Jim Taylor. "There will be some prizes, including clothing from RVCA, Lifeblood skateboards, Unheard Dist. And Paradox Grip Tape." According to the Taylors, all are welcome, everyone from beginners to pros. So, if you decide to participate, expect some competition.

There is currently no set guest list, the contest is currently based on whoever arrives at the event. "We're expecting riders from Canada (who are all girl skaters) as well as different people from around the area," says Jim Taylor, "the numbers are still unknown." There is a $10 entry fee to participate in the contest. If you are under 18 years of age and do not have a parent or guardian present, you are required to wear a helmet.

The contest will be held at the Easy Outlaw Skate Shop on Sept. 26, at 5 p.m. For more information, call (509) 773-3054.
