Wishram man walks from Mexico to Canada

HITTING THE TRAIL: Wishram resident Todd Impson has only 500 more miles to walk to complete the 2,663-mile Pacific Crest Trail.

Try 2,663 miles-the length of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) from Mexico to Canada.

That's what Todd Impson of Wishram has been treading since April 3. He's got about 500 miles to go after taking a brief layover earlier this month to visit with family in Stevenson.

The 55-year-old man began planning and practicing for the grueling 'thru-hike' a few years ago, though the genesis of the idea might've leapt across the synapses when he and his brother, Don, hiked from White Pass to Carson in the early '80s.
