Cougars sweep pair of matches to open volleyball season on a strong foot

 


Lyle-Wishram continued its unbeaten streak to start the year with a 3-0 win over White Swan. The game was won from the service line, according to assistant coach Joe Bales. Caity Showalter served up 10 aces, Kiya Childers had four aces, Lacy Carse had three aces and Ellie Smith and Winter Keeling- Bergin each scored on a pair of aces.

Leading the way with kills were Smith and Katelynn Oldfield, each with three. Carse led the team with eight assists. The final scores were 25-19, 25-10, 25-21.

On Tuesday of last week, Lyle-Wishram launched its regular season of volleyball on the home court with a straight set win over South Wasco County. The Lady Cougars won 25-19, 26-24, 25-21. Childers le...
