Gannon second through orchards at Apple Ridge

OUT OF THE ORCHARD: Andrew Gannon makes his way out of the orchard after a long uphill climb at Apple Ridge.

There was a new challenge at Apple Ridge this year. Another portion of orchard was included in the course, providing runners with a second, long climb in the three-mile race. Bickleton's Andrew Gannon ran a terrific race to finish second in 17:09.1. With no previous time on the course to compare against, it is clear that Gannon was much better than last year when he ran a 17:02.9 on the more traditional and less challenging configuration of the course. Gannon was about 16 seconds behind race winner, Ian Fay, of Cedercrest High School, a 2A school at Duvall.

Bickleton also had runners in two other races, Saturday. Michael Gannon placed 26th of 113 runners in the flat course, figure eight...
