Rising siblings in sweep at Apple Ridge

SPENT: Dillon Rising crosses the finish line at the end of a record performance by the Goldendale sophomore. Rising provided Goldendale its first win on the course and set a new personal best, slashing more than a minute off his previous best on the 3-mile course.

Dillon Rising ran a personal record time for the win at Apple Ridge Run, Saturday. Rising nearly led from start to finish, but was in solid command of the three-mile race from the mile one marker to the end. Rising finished the race in 16 minutes, 20.1 seconds. Last year on the course, the Goldendale runner was timed at 17:58.3, finishing 18th in the September race. This time, Rising was 19 seconds ahead of the runner-up from Cashmere.

Goldendale had a strong showing in the race which included 122 runners. Freshman Lucas Anderson was 29th in 18:40.9. Juniors Will Bostick and Mykhail Lembke ran together for the entire distance with Bostick placing 38th in 19:11.1 and Lembke 39th in 19:11.9...
