Getting their limit at Goose Lake

On Sept. 29, Trout Unlimited Chapter 484 members Bill Johnson, Shannon Clarin and Olivia Holderman headed to Goose Lake to do some fishing.

Before dawn, the group started out on a journey of more than 80 miles; passing through acres of still-green pastures dotted with herds of cattle and horses. They drove past an elk grazing at the side of the road, and slowed down for more than a dozen wild turkeys in the road; a reminder that Thanksgiving is just around the corner. And all this was surrounded by brilliant fall color.

Arriving at the lake at 8 a.m., the trio found the lake to be very low, remarking that they had never seen it that low before, that, however, did not stop them from catchi...
