Adonai's still offers books and a peaceful place

STILL OPEN AND INVITING: Peggy Woodard in the front sitting area of her store.

The long and short of a mild case of confusion last week is this: Adonai's Christian Bookstore is still open.

"Yes, we are definitely still open and in business," confirms owner Peggy Woodard. Last week's article in The Sentinel about the start of House of Peace led some readers to think Adonai's had taken down its shingle. Not so.

"The story talked about us closing the Haven," Woodard says. "And Lin [Smith] and Deanna [Luth] did acquire the 501c3 for the Haven-although I didn't just give it to them, the way it sounded." The Haven's board of directors had to consent to the transfer, which happened over some time.

"We didn't want to just let the 501C3 dissolve because they're so expensive...
