Offices on Columbus burgled

 


Doors were kicked in at two South Columbus businesses last week. The police have a suspect and report that while damage was done to the doors, small value items were stolen, leaving behind larger, more expensive property.

The police also have responded to calls about a black bear on Observatory Hill. Police Chief Reggie Bartkowski reports that an officer also spotted the animal and the Washington Fish and Wildlife officers have been notified.

Police officer Stan Berkshire has begun K9 officer training in Shelton. Bartkowski says the purchase of the dog was made possible by a $10,000 grant from Puget Sound Energy. The dog will be used in searches and drug interdiction along Highway 97 in...
