Mild October weather pattern about to change


A pattern change is coming this week. It has been a fairly mild October, but more precipitation, windy conditions and colder weather is coming by the end of the week.

First, a surge of moisture is expected to impact the inland northwest Friday and Saturday. Although there will be a system ahead of it providing rain showers on Wednesday, the Friday system will have more abundant moisture with it to produce more significant rainfall. Areas near the Cascade crest, especially along the Washington crest, could see 1 to 2 inches of rainfall Thursday night into Friday night, with more to come on Saturday.
