Cougars stay unbeaten in Gorge League with 3-1 win over Pirates

Lyle-Wishram won the showdown in Bickleton 3-1, to stay on top of the Greater Columbia Gorge volleyball league standings. The Cougars won 25-22, 8-25, 25-22, 25-21. In addition to the win, the Cougars enjoyed the next step in the emergence of freshman Amber Tompkins as a premier front line player in the league.

Tompkins has shown steady progress from being new to the sport at the start of the season. At Bickleton, Tompkins looked very comfortable knocking down big hits and blocking shots, something the Cougars have been looking for. She finished the match with seven kills and four blocks.
