Lady Wolves sweep Eagles, bow out of playoffs to Bears


The Goldendale Lady Timberwolves’ season started and ended with Kiona-Benton. The Bears won the season opener 3-1 and they won the season finisher 3-1. The scores were closer the second time around, but the result was worse as it ended Goldendale’s hopes for a trip to State.

Goldendale lost the opening match at Columbia Burbank 3-1. They bounced back by sweeping Connell in the neutral gym at Highland, 25-17, 25-23, 25-21, putting them one match away from a State berth. But, Ki-Be’s size in the middle with Momo Calzadillas was too much for the Wolves.

Goldendale was led at District by Ocean Bryan’s 71 kills and seven aces. Sierra Plum had 104 assists, Talia Johnson had 58 digs and...
