Cameron Read wins 220 pound class at Davis


Goldendale’s Cameron Read was dominant in his first outing of the year, winning the 220 pound division at the Davis High School wrestling tournament, Saturday. Read was the top placer among five Timberwolves who finished in the top three of their division to put Goldendale eighth among 12 teams. Read pinned Eastmont’s Roberto Guevara to finish first.

Zane Cully lost on points to finish second at 195 pounds with Joseph Randall finishing with a pin to tie for third in the division. Mark Briggs was third at 170 pounds and Demetrius McCoy tied for third by pinning teammate Nic Foss at 182 pounds.

The Wolves wrestle River View and Columbia-Burbank at Zillah High School, Thursday.
