Wolves lose 48-45 to River View in fourth quarter battle of threes

The clock ran out on Goldendale as they tried to open their season with a win against River View, Friday. The Panthers used a 10-2 edge from the foul line during the second half to beat the Timberwolves 48-45. A pair of three-point shots in the fourth quarter by Edgar Vega weren't enough for Goldendale to catch the Panthers who hit a pair of timely three-point shots to take the lead in the final five minutes of the game.

Vega had 13 points and seven offensive rebounds, 13 overall, to lead Goldendale. The Wolves fought back from a cold shooting third quarter to gain the lead on a Grant Gunkel three-point shot with 4:40 left in the game. But, Mario Jaramillo and Kody Hamlin answered with th...
