Glenwood's December precipitation more than 9 inches so far

How about that water last week? Several days of heavy rain caused high water levels to rush through the Glenwood area on Wednesday, Dec. 9. Sandbagging activities were seen along the Mt. Adams Highway; and water crossed Main Street, Ladiges Road, the Glenwood Highway and Troh Lane to name a few others. Although unofficial, many locals speculated that water levels rivaled those seen during the 1996 flood. Doug Daniels reported that we have received 9.81 inches of precipitation for the first half of December. The 19-year average for the entire month is 5.94 inches. Mt. Adams is sporting a shiny new coat of white too. Hopefully we are in a trend of replenishing our moisture deficit!
