Lady Cougar guards pour in points to remain unbeaten

It was a good week for the Lady Cougars of Lyle-Wishram, the only area team to go without a loss last week, defeating South Wasco County 53-16 and Dufur 59-28. The backcourt tandem of Lacy Carse and MaeLynn Luke combined for 57 points and 30 steals for the two games as Lyle-Wishram stayed unbeaten through their first three games.

Coach Joe Bales felt his team "rushed things" which led to too many turnovers, but the high pressure Cougar offense more than made up for it as the Redsides had 13 first quarter turnovers and 34 for the game. Delores Spino and Ellie Smith did the inside work, each scoring 10 points. Smith, Larissa McConville and Alex Cloud each had seven rebounds for Lyle-Wishram...
