Sandra Marshall


Beloved sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, wife, friend and above all a child of God, Sandra (Sandee) Ann Marshall passed away in Portland, Oregon on December 12, 2015 at the age of 71.

She was born in Portland on April 11, 1944 and was adopted along with her older brother Jim, by Millard and Anna Frances (McConnel) Willis on June 9, 1949. Sandee was baptized and confirmed as a child of God at 1st Presbyterian Church of Albany Oregon on March 6, 1958 by Pastor Morton L. Booth and graduated from Albany High school in 1962.

At a very young age Sandee starting taking piano lessons from Mr. Laural Braugraf in Albany, and always looked back on her lessons with fond memories. Sandee lived in Albany until leaving for Portland to attend school to become a nurse where she worked as a nurse until deciding to raise a family. Sandee married Richard Marshall on May 24, 1986 in Seattle, Washington. She taught piano lessons for twenty years, first in Ocean Shores, Washington from 1995 until 2003 and later in Goldendale, Washington. Mrs. Marshall was also a manager for the Black Angus restaurant chain in Seattle, Washington where she was a resident for many years. While residing in Ocean Shores Washington she was a member of the Galilean Lutheran Chapel where she played the piano for worship services for 7 years. After moving to Goldendale Washington, Sandee became a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church where she loved playing the piano for the past twelve years. She loved to be in her flower garden and loved to feed all the wild birds in her yard. Sandee is survived by her husband Richard of Goldendale; brother and sister-in-law Jim and Dee Willis of Albany, Oregon; son Mike Griffin of Vancouver, Washington; son Mark Griffin of Portland; daughter Kristine Vinge of San Jose, California; son Aaron Vinge of Portland; daughter Christine Marshall of Goldendale; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Gary McCormick. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 26 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Goldendale, Washington. Sandee will be laid to rest in the columbarium in the Chapel of the Resurrection at First Lutheran Church of West Seattle on January 2, 2016 at 11 a.m. Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel handled cremation arrangements.
