Lady Cougars beat Wahluke 50-23


Lyle-Wishram girls gave themselves a nice Christmas present with a Monday afternoon win over 1A Wahluke, 50-23. Lacy Carse scored 15 points and one of the shortest players on the court, Alex Cloud led the team with 11 rebounds. Katelynn Oldfield had nine points and 10 rebounds. Carse and MaeLynn Luke each had seven steals for the high pressure Cougar defense.

The win was little consolation for the girls who lost their league opener on Saturday against Yakama Nation, 64-47. The Eagles got 18 points each from Wiwnu Mills and Kaleea Zick to pull away from the Cougars in the third quarter and made it stick. Carse led the Cougars with 24 points and Ellie Smith had 18 rebounds to lead Lyle-Wish...
