Lightning wins 61-46 shoot out at Goldendale

TO THE HOOP: Jacob Hiebert takes it to the hoop for Goldendale. Turnovers kept the Wolves from keeping pace with La Salle in the third quarter of a 61-46 loss.

Goldendale couldn't keep pace with La Salle, Saturday in Goldendale, losing 70-46. The Lightning made the most of their size advantage to score around the hoop and keep Goldendale chasing points outside. Nearly 60 percent of Goldendale's points came on three-point shots. In fact, Goldendale shot well for the game at 43 percent, but a 22-14 turnover edge gave La Salle too many opportunities.

Jess Beierle had a strong game to lead the Timberwolves. He was 3-3 on three point shots and 2-3 on two-point shots for a team leading 13 points. But, La Salle took away his opportunities and held him to zero shots in the final quarter.
