Valujean "Billie" Clarence


Valujean Clarence, known as “Billie”, passed away at her home in Klickitat on January 1, 2016 at the age of 80.

She was born on January 15, 1935 to Georgia (Fortner) and John Henry Geelan, Sr. in Topeka, Kansas. Billie finished school in Kansas and met her future husband, Jack Hamill, who was working as a ranch hand. They moved to Klickitat and Jack went to work in the Mill. In April of 1977, she married Johny Clarence. Billie worked as a security guard and for Huntington’s. She was a member of the Klickitat Valley Baptist Church where she served as a Vacation Bible School leader and Sunday school teacher. Billie loved gardening, reading her Bible, fishing with Johny and watching the wildlife and birds.

Mrs. Clarence is survived by her daughters Bonnie Jean Anderson of Florida, Shirley Ann Schultz of Tualatin, Oregon, Peggy Sue Hamill of Wishram, Washington, and Teresa Murray of Klickitat; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Johny Clarence; sons Earl Dean Hamill and William Everett Hamill; and siblings Helen, Junior and Carl.

A memorial service will be held at Klickitat Valley Baptist Church on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 1 p.m. with refreshments following. Please send condolences to the family by visiting
