Minor entity dictates its opinion into law


To the Editor:

This is in regards to the article in the Dec. 30 edition of The Sentinel about the new rules in Washington State that dictate to us that men must be allowed to use women’s bathrooms.

After reading it, I had to ponder which part of the article was the most amazing. Was I most aghast at the main object of the article that we will now be forced, at the threat of punishment, to allow men to use women’s facilities; or was I more amazed that a major change in our culture had just been dictated to us by a state commission?

The true threat, I quickly realized, is that a minor state government entity can decide for us what a basic human right is. With the threat of a large fine,...
