McCabe gets hearing on Travis bill

A bill that would aid first responders in emergencies in identifying those with disabilities was heard by the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday.

Rep. Gina McCabe introduced House Bill 2287, the "Travis Alert Act," when Travis' mom, Threasa, brought the idea to her during the Legislature's second special session in 2015.

"The public hearing gave the committee the opportunity to see the passion and heartfelt enthusiasm surrounding this bill. It was great to see Travis, many members of his family and a bus full of supporters from Yakima testify in support of the bill," said McCabe, R-Goldendale.
